It’s a podcast from the OSMcast in 2016! About… 2015! How exciting! So, we thought we were back, only we weren’t. Whoops! But we are here, with an episode. That we recorded all the way back in January! It’s the first half of the 2015 OSMawards, that now is in fact, the entirety.
So yes. While this is the latest OSMcast, this is also the last… To update on a Monday! In the future, we are going to update on every other Friday, and see how that works out. And we should have things coming, as we have recorded a whole new episode last week, and have some interviews from MTAC. But until then, show some time cues~
Oh snap! It’s time for the 2014 OSMcast OSMawards! AKA the not so much awards, more like we just talk about the stuff we liked from the last year. Since last time we did it in the order of Video Games, then TV Shows, THEN Movies, we decided to switch things up! Into reverse order!
So now it’s Movies, then TV Shows, and THEN a whole bunch of Video Games.
Although we kind of start with a video game. But ignore that! Actually… Don’t. Don’t ignore that.
We (and by we, we mean Basil) also complain about things that won’t let us give them money, and also not letting us give them the money on stuff we wanted them to! It’s a gas.
First of, the OSMcast will be at Kami-con, covering the whole dang joint. Fun times shall be had! If you see us around (probably at the Hamacon table), come say hello!

Another podcast, another episode where we talk about Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun. We mean Marvel’s latest movie, Guardians of the Galaxy. Which once again proved to us here at OSM Central that the way to our hearts is for Marvel to make awesome films about space and featuring wicked warhammers.
That could be just for Basil, though. Eh, close enough!
So our last “normal” podcast about a movie reinvention of an old franchise. Therefore we decided to go back to an entirely different franchise, and talk about one of their earlier movies.
That franchise is Jim Henson’s Muppets, and that movie is 1981’s The Great Muppet caper, directed by Jim Henson and filled to the brim with muppets. Which make sense as it is a Muppets movie. With Jim Henson at the helm.
We also talk about being among wolves, shovels, knights, how to protect yourself against the mosquito menace, and even some Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy X|V: A Realm Reborn Minutes.
Well a bunch actually as this is a pretty packed OSMcast! We introduce a brand new segment all about this MMO that the whole crew is playing aka Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! Sure we say it’s a minute do is it ever? We also bring back the love as well with the hate, and then top it all off with a movie that the cew general loved, but Basil was a sourpus about.
What’s with that Basil anyway hatin’ on Norway like that!
Oh no! There goes you go go going to see Godzilla? Perhaps! Or maybe you want to hop on Leviathan server on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and play with the OSMcast? We’ll allow it! Just send us a message if you do, through email or whatever social media you’d like.
Or perhaps you are getting hyped about Hamacon? You should it’s going to be AMAZING.
And hey Time Cues yeah we got those right here:

Lo and Behold we have returned. It is now the year of 2014. But 2013 had a lot of cool stuff in it, so we have brought back the OSMawards!
In the first part of our two episode saga of days past, we tackle the staple that is Video Gaming. From 3DS, to PS3, to 3DS, to 360, to Wii U, to 3DS, to PS4, to 3DS, we cover all the game that tickled our 2013 fancies. We then venture into the realm of not-so Japanese TV Shows, then wrap up with Movies.
We also talk about Space Dandy, fancy watches that tell you things, magical boards of water and ink, and more!
So much more, including possibly the end of Doug’s never working freezer?! STAY TUNED.
Well, when when we decided to podcast about monsters we created a monster podcast. Clocking in with 2 hours and change, the OSMcast returns with a rousing episode dedicated to Guillermo del Toro’s love letter all things giant, monster, and robot, the movie Pacific Rim.
We also talk about comments and emails and things! BUT NOT ONLY THAT, we also dig into Shin Megami Tensei IV, Shadowrun Returns, Free!!, The Eccentric Family, and more.
And by more we mean Overdrift, which will make more sense at the end than at the beginning.
So strap in and get ready to drift into some OSMcast~
SO GO SEE THIS MOVIE ALREADY OKAY thanks a bunch folks.
As we said, Basil and Kevin will be at Otakon maybe we shall see you there! But at any rate, please feel free to send us comments, and emails, Facebook us, or whatever correspondence you like to send our way. We always appreciate it.
And here it is, the long lost episode that is now waaaaaay out of date, but still contains messages and meanings most dire. And the message is all about Neveldine/Taylor’s Nicolas Cage-starring blockbuster of a Marvel film, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. We also discuss other things, like Mass Effect 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Tales of the Abyss, Knights if the Old Republic, and Doritos tacos. Joining us on this epic take is Daryl Surat from AWO, Niko from CineGeek, and Basil’s buddy Caleb. Oh and I guess I was there, too.
Just when you thought we were going to post our review of the new Makoto Shinkai movie first, we double back and release our FMA movie one instead! That’s right, this time the OSMcast tackles the movie Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, animated by Bones and directed by Kazuya Murata. We’re joined by Daryl Surat of Anime World Order, Otaku USA, Crunchyroll News, and wherever there is justice to be found. We also delve into the nature of the reoccuring shonen film staple, and Trigun: Badlands Rumble. It’s a fun time!
When will Funimation out Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos? Chances are, as soon as they can. They know how to strike while the iron is hot, unlike some other studios (Anchor Bay!). However, Trigun: Badlands Rumble is hitting September 27th! You can tell Basil’s opinion of Trigun: Badlands Rumble as he keeps referring to it as Trigun: Badass Rumble. And Basil didn’t even like the original Trigun that much! So it should be a pretty safe buy. If you know, you like awesome stuff. Which we assume you do since well, you’re on our site.
AWA Fun Times are a comin’! What kind of OSMcast panels are we throwing out for AWA this year?! Well here they are:
Engrish Jambore II – Engrish Haldel: Basil and Drew started this panel at AWA last year, and we are returning once again to deliver tlue rove for all that rove engrish.
Anime’s Creepy Uncle – Go Nagai At A Glance: Basil and Kevin gush how awesome Go Nagai is and why you should think he is awesome too.
Getting Your Anime Groove Back: Think you might be getting out of anime? Well Basil just might have some shows to get you back in the game, as it were. And is an excuse to show off the first 13 minutes of Redline.
We’ll probably have actual times and places for these panels closer to the con itself. Next time, we’ll actually post our review of the latest Makoto Shinkai film Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below, along with AWO‘s Gerald.
This podcast was in fact so angry, we had to let it cool down for an extra two weeks just so we could get it out here. It’s all about Nicolas Cage’s latest vehicle of awesomeness, Drive Angry. Always angry special guest Daryl Surat joins us for this drive-filled action packed people talking exciting episode of excitement. We talk about all sorts of things that seemed really important at the time! And quite possibly still do!
Sadly, as it turned out that even two eeks ago, Drive Angry was already out of our local theaters. It’s a real shame. But these things do tend to come out in home media form, so when it does, you should watch this film, 3D or no!
Also, Momocon has already happened, but it was fun! A good time was had by all. Next up on the OSMcast Road Show? MTAC! We’ll be present two lovely panels for your education and also possibly amusement! We’ll be rocking out with the Getting Your Anime Groove Back panel that was discussed IN THIS VERY EPISODE. And also, Anime’s Creepy Uncle, a Glance at Go Nagai, which may or may not have been mentioned, I can’t remember. Still, it’s gonna be fun. It’s gonna be crazy.
