Back in the ye olden days of June 2011, we got to talk to one Chris Cason at HAMACON 2. Who is this mysterious Chris Cason, you ask? Why he’s a voice actor and ADR Director for Funimation Entertainment. He’s done several roles for Funimation, such as Gluttony in Full Metal Alchemist, Mr. Popo in Dragon Ball Kai, and Holy Roman Empire in Hetalia: Axis Powers, among others. He’s also done ADR work on such series as School Rumble, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, and YuYu Hakusho. It’s good times. But don’t take our word for it! Have a listen.

OSMnotes

Hope you all enjoy the interview, and once again thanks to Chris Cason for talking to us. But that’s not all! Next Monday we’ll be linking to the Reverse Thieves‘ Crime Scene Investigations podcast segment all about the Friday at Otakon, as sort of the precursor to when we’ll be talking about Otakon on Saturday night on the OSMcast proper with guest podcast buddy and No. 1 Saber fan, Hisui. But wait you say? You want to hear that NOW?! Well you can! For you see, the Reverse Thieves have already posted it! We’ll just be re-posting on Monday as a crazy double dip scheme.

House of Five Leaves is a thing that should be read! Or watched! So we expect that you all will be getting to that immediately. If you are already a smart, lovely, and amazing person that already knew about the wonders of House of Five Leaves, then would you like to try an awesome visual novel-styled game that isn’t porn? Perhaps a murder mystery? Might we suggest you take a look over at sakevisual? While you folks are working on that, we’ll be heading out to super hot and also steamy Baltimore, Maryland this weekend for an exciting adventure at Otakon. It will be exciting! And adventrous!

And at some point I’m sure we’ll be telling you all about it. In podcast form.

You see, at MTAC Odyssey we teamed yup with the wonderful gentlemen of the Chainsaw Buffet podcast to interview Spike Spencer. Spike, has done many a role in anime and video games, but is most likely best known for doing the voice of Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. And since the Chainsaw Buffet guys have already released their version of interview, we decided to use the magic of RSS feeds to let you in on the action! It's true!

Trudging back forth from the cold, cold North to the slightly less cold, cold South, the OSMcast brings you this interview from the always awesome voice actor Jerry Jewell! He has done some greats roles such as Barry The Chopper from Fullmetal Alchemist, Claire Stanfield from Baccano!, and all sorts of stuff.

Super Cool Music Link: The Peach Truck Republic! This is the fact the jamband that Jerry speaks of! The one that he plays bass in and also vocals! Turns out, Jerry plays a pretty mean bass. And the songs, they are rockin’. We played some of their music in the breaks to give you all a taste, but clicking that link can lead you on to even more amazing things like CDs filled to the brim of music, that you can actually buy.

Okay so it’s been a month between updates… again. We’d try and say we promise to not be more like AWO in this instance… But now that they’ve started splitting up their episodes to have a different chuck each week instead of one huge update a month, we can’t even say that! But this really should not be a problem in the foreseeable future. We hope.

The Peach Truck Republic, serving out pipin' hot tunes since 1993

Also, welcome everyone from Ohayocon that might be visiting us right now! We are glad you came! You should check out the Index of OSM and see what other podcast goodies we may have lying in wait for you. Or hell, just subscribe to the RSS feed with you podcatcher of choice! You know you want to. We recorded a few different segments at the con, which we’ll be rolling out to you all as time marches forward. In the meantime, you can also email us, comment, or even call the OSMline (which may or may not also be Aaron Dismuke’s phone number)!

But here’s a fun fact! I don’t know if we mentioned it or not in this version of the interview, but Jerry has gotten the most google search hits out of anything ever for this podcast. The only term that’s asked for more is “OSMcast” itself. So we know you like Jerry, folks. We know!

TL,DR: Sonny Strait is a man of many talents and he gifted us some of his time to throw some questions at him, so here they are for you to enjoy.

Protip: This was done on the spot in the Artist Alley at MTAC as the man ignored his lunch to talk to us. But due to the hustle and bustle of the con this may be an episode for the home rather than for the car.

This week we decided to kick it off with our epic-ly long interview with two of the hardest working folks in anime fandom today: Robert and Emily DeJesus of Studio Capsule. They talked about all sorts of things with us, like what it takes to make it out there as an artist and the Best Con Slogan Ever. Did we mention Emily also is the con chair for Ohayocon? Also joining us was (I believe) Richard from Akihabara Renditions.

OSMnotes

There are a myriad of ways you can find Robert DeJesus on the Internet. There is his main site, Studio Capsule. But if you want to go where the action is, you want his YouTube page. You can also check out his DeviantArt page as well, if are feeling a little… You know… Devious.

Robert DeJesus is an inspiration to us all.

You know, with all of these various Internet sites (and there are actually more if you know where to look), I find it really weird someone had to write a “What ever happened to Robert DeJesus?” page.
Special props goes out to MTAC who arranged for the space and Akihabara Renditions for the tools to make this happen. SUPER special props goes out however to our buddy Elvis, whose quick cell phone action ensured that this interview took place, and for introducing us to the DeJesus duo in the first place.

And of course, thank you once more to Robert and Emily for spending their time with us.
